Your Stay
Check-in From 15:00
Check-Out By 10:00
Plan Ahead
Before your arrival take a look at the rest of our website to familiarise yourself with Dovecote, Trevone and the area around Padstow. We have included links to a few things to do but there is something for everyone somewhere in Cornwall.

Unfortunately we cannot have a barbecue at Dovecote as we have a wood terrace. However there really is nothing better than having one on the beach (even on a winters day!). We like these as they are eco-friendly and are ready to use.

They can sometimes be seen in our local supermarket but are well worth getting in advance online. Remember when you have used them to only dispose of them in the metal disposal bins that can be found by the beach.

Don't forget
Sun cream and a hats. It is surprising how much exposure you can get on the Cornish Riviera even on the most overcast of days and in the winter!
Remember your Beach Towels. It is always worth bringing a few extra as it is so tempting to go back to the beach for that evening swim.

Travelling To Dovecote
Dovecote is situated on Dobbin Road, Trevone, PL288QW. Trevone is on the B3276 coast road between Padstow on Newquay.

At some point you will almost definitely end up on the A30 and depending upon how your sat nav (or your map reading skills) interpret your journey you will be approaching us via the A39.
*Tip* Listen to local radio for traffic updates. If the A30 sounds like it is busy, come off the A30 early signposted "North Cornwall and Wadebridge. If not stay on the A30 and exit via Cornwall Services. Follow the B3274 and stay on it until you arrive at the A39. Then follow the signs to Wadebridge.

From Winnards Perch on the A39 take the B3274 signposted Padstow. Just before you get to Padstow take a left onto the B3276 signposted Newquay. Don't worry if you go too far, the B3276 goes through Padstow and will bring you to the coast road. Once on the coast road Trevone is less than a mile on your right, signposted Trevone Bay. Take Trevone Road down the hill and then take the left turning just after the farm shop following the sign to the Well Parc Inn. You will pass "Dave's Field" a croquet green and large paddock on your right. Dobbin Road is directly in front of you and Dovecote is the fourth building on the left.

By Bus
Trevone has a reasonably frequent bus service that runs between Padstow and Newquay. The service is run by Go Cornwall Bus and the bus stop is at the top of the village.
On Arrival
You will be able to access Dovecote from
3pm in the afternoon.

You will find 2 sets of keys to Dovecote in the Masterlock key safe on the wooden pillar next to the patio entrance door at the front of the property.

The lock code for your stay will be 2205

Set the tumblers on the lock to the key code, and pull down the black tab to open the key safe.

To unlock the door turn the key clockwise and then lift the latch on the handle. The door will then slide open to the right.

To lock the door, fully close the door, put the latch in the down position and turn the key anti-clockwise to lock.

*Tip* Whenever you leave Dovecote, put a key somewhere safe. Then you will always be able to get back in even if you lose a key whilst out and about.
Your Holiday Home
Dovecote has been prepared for your stay and our team take great pride in their work so if they have overlooked something small forgive them. If it is serious let us know and we will get it resolved for you.
We want you to feel like you are at home so we don't burden you with rules and instructions. We only really have three. No smoking please, treat Dovecote like it is yours and enjoy your stay. Oh and be considerate to the homes around you, they are usually on holiday too!

*Tip* We have left the instruction manuals for most things in the inner drawer of the top kitchen drawer.
The Important Stuff - Please Read
EV Charging
We try to keep the cost of everyones stay at Dovecote as low as we can. As we do not have a way of taking payment from individual guests for the high cost of charging, we ask all guests not to charge their electric vehicles whilst staying. There are fast and convenient charging points just a few minutes away at Tesco in Padstow and at our local filling station.

Your Safety
Dovecote has been cleaned sanitised prior to your visit with particular care taken to touch points.

Dovecote has a linked fire alarm system that comprises a heat detector in the kitchen and smoke detectors in the lounge and bedrooms. They will not go off though under normal circumstances but in keeping with the regulations they are quite sensitive and loud!

Each bedroom has a large "tilt and turn" window that allows you to exit Dovecote without going through the lounge in the unlikely event that you will need to do so. The handle has three positions:
Position 1 - Handle is vertically downwards - The window is closed and locked.
Position 2 - Handle is horizontal - The window will tilt towards you from the top.
Position 3 - Handle is vertically upwards - The whole window will open inwards to allow escape.

Always ensure the window is in the fully closed position before using it as an escape door or window and familiarise yourself with its use. Using them incorrectly can result in damaging their mechanism so only use the windows as doors if there is an emergency.

Toilet
Like most Cornish coastal villages our main drains are old and narrow. Please do not flush wipes, nappies or other sanitary products down the toilet. They will inevitably block the main drain and cause inconvenience to yourselves and the surrounding properties.

WiFi
Dovecote has fast internet access. Connect to the network Dovecote Trevone using the password: DoveCote2021
Heating and Hot Water
Cornwall is committed to addressing climate change and so Dovecote's energy is all electricity supplied from sustainable sources.

The lounge has a 2KW fireplace which can be used with or without the heat output.
We assume you will be out and about during the day so the hot water and, in winter, the wall heaters are timed to be available from 07:00 - 10:00 and 18:00 and 21:00.
However you can always "boost" the water heater using the timer next to the dishwasher switch. Use the + button to change the timer to "On". Please remember to use the + button to return to the programmed operation by selecting "auto off" to avoid using excess unnecessary energy.

The wall heaters are programmed to give a comfortable heat in winter but can get hot so do not place items on top. Please do not switch them off as it will affect their programmed function.

The electric shower can be used at all times by switching it on using the cord in the bathroom.

TV and Music
You will find the remotes on top of the fireplace.
To connect to the music system by blue tooth, turn on the soundbar using the remote and connect to the "Samsung Soundbar" using your bluetooth enabled device.
I'm a paragraph. Click here to add your own text and edit me. It's easy.
We endeavour to be a kind to the environment as possible.

Please leave our "ecoclean" card on any bed you do not use to avoid any unnecessary laundering.

Waste and Recycling
The General Waste and Recycling receptacle's can be found in the store and the end of the shed. Please ensure all general waste is bagged. Recycling receptacle's are available for Glass, Household Plastic/Metal and Cardboard. Please do not mix the recycling as it will not get taken or taken as General Waste. Cornwall does not currently have food compost/recycling facilities.

Breakages
Things happen, keys get lost, glasses get broken. Hopefully not too many plates get smashed!
Our experience is that these things are the exception not the norm. However, please let us know of any that have occurred so that we can ensure our next guests have everything they need.

Dogs
We welcome small well behaved dogs as we have our own. Like you they will be excited about their stay so please make sure that they remain calm and well behaved whilst they settle into their holiday too. We do ask that you do not leave then unattended at any time. Being left in an unfamiliar environment can lead to them becoming quite stressed, quiet quickly, leading to lots of barking and anxious gnawing! They can enjoy Trevone beach all year round and before 10am and after 6pm between 1st May - 30th September. Our "Rocky Beach and nearby Harlyn Beach are dog friendly 365 days a year.
Out and About
The beaches are only a short walk away and can be reached in three different ways.

Click the image to download the village map.

The first is to head for the Well Parc Inn and take the path to the left along the fields. This will wind its way down to the Rocky Beach and the natural outdoor swimming pool known as "Tinkers Pool. The younger one's in your party will also recognise it as the swimming pool from the popular BBC TV series Mallory Towers.

Rocky beach is generally quieter than the bay and is a great place to bask under the warming Cornish sun, fish or explore the rock pools.

You can continue on past the rocky beach to arrive at Trevone Bay.

The second is courtesy of Ray our local publican. Again head to the Well Parc but this time go to the right of the pub and follow the drive onto the beer garden and down the hill. Go through the snicket and when you come out walk along the road to end up on the green overlooking the bay.

Finally, if you are going to the beach via the road, go back to Trevone Road, turn left and follow the road down the hill until you see water. You have found the beach!
The Shop
Trevone Farm Shop is just off the main road and stocks everything you will need if you don't want to venture out of the village. They always stock a great range of local fare and will take orders for "real milk" in glass bottles, bread and pasties!

Not everything is as cheap as the Tesco in Padstow, but you will be buying a selection of quality ingredients locally. They also kept the village going with deliveries over lockdown when the larger supermarkets were struggling to cope so we support them whenever we can.

The Pub - The Well Parc Inn
Proper Pub, Proper Drink, Proper Food - "Proper Job"

The Well Parc is always at the centre of things in Trevone all year round, whether it is visiting Ray's Santas Grotto in the dining room at Christmas or attending one of the many fund raising events they host for our local emergency services, there is usually something going on.

it serves all the usual pub fare (and the fish and chips ain't bad either). Why cook when they will do it for you.

Beach Stores and Cafe
Right next to the beach, Trevone Beach Stores and Cafe has got everything you need to either hire or buy. They also serve a pretty mean pizza and booking for Tapas in the evening is an absolute must. There is is also Bruno's Beach Bar. Like everything here in Cornwall the atmosphere is relaxed and is great for a drink whilst watching the sun go down.

The shop and cafe can get a bit busy at peak times but the wait is always worth it!

Trevone Bay Adventures
Discover all the fun of life living by the sea with Trevone Bay Adventures.
If they can teach us to surf, they can teach anyone!

p.s. ...and its a great way to keep the kids occupied if you just want to sit in your deckchair, wiggle your toes in the sand and snooze the afternoon away having eaten that extra pasty you managed to keep a secret!

Padstow Sea Life Safaris
Take a high speed rib to explore our amazing coastal waters with Padstow Sea Life Safaris. We've seen dolphins, seals and all manner of birds and fish. You can even hire the rib for your own personal skippered excursion. Perfect for avoiding the traffic if you want to pop down to Newquay!

Further Afield
Really!
You have time for even more?
Well Padstow is only a few minutes away, shops, food, drink, fudge, more food, beach, ferry to Rock (see if you can spot Gordon Ramsey's lockdown home), crazy golf, oh and did we mention the food!
